For the first time at the Palanga Concert Hall, the musical comedy "Is America in a Bathhouse?!" with Deivis Norvilas and Sandra Lebrikaitė.
Tired of banalities, cheap jokes, soap opera plots and computer-generated music?! Here, viewers will see a sincere, real comedy. And an extraordinary one – a musical one! “Is America in a Bathhouse?!” is the first Lithuanian play revived with music and songs, touring the halls of Lithuanian cities with great success.
“Ah, America…” – the heroes of the play repeatedly exclaim, fully understanding that “it’s good where we’re not”. Here, Lithuanian slats will shatter the mirages of the “promised land” into smithereens, and the heat of the sauna will wittyly expose the weaknesses of the gullible and the deceit of the selfish. The characters (and perhaps ourselves) will be made fun of by the human vices that have been transformed into caricatures: greed, stupidity and pride.
Director Nerijus Petrokas has brought the plot of the classic Lithuanian play to life with melodies specially arranged by the well-known TV project conductor Vytautas Lukočius. The attractive creative idea is being implemented in Lithuanian halls by stage performer Deivis Norvilas, charming Sandra Lebrikaitė and artists of the Kaunas music ensemble "Ainiai".
But what do the question mark and exclamation mark in the title of the play mean? Come and find out for yourself - after all, this is a new look at a comedy that has become a classic!
