A nice Monday at work, is it possible? After all, most people start looking forward to Friday night on Monday morning, because work is not entertainment, but a place to earn money. Could it be otherwise? This time, the ACTORS Theatre presents you with a very hard-working, but at the same time relaxing comedy "To Work as to a Holiday", based on the play "Happy at Work" by French author Isabelle Grolier.
The play takes place in a newspaper editorial office, whose financial affairs are getting worse every month, because with the advent of the Internet era, printed newspapers have become unpopular. The three employees working in the editorial office do not particularly like each other and their duties, they only care about how to run home through the editorial office door as quickly as possible. The director who runs the newspaper cannot stand the employees' attitude towards work, but everyone grits their teeth and continues to work, because they have no other choice. And the way out is unexpectedly offered by a Dutch investor who appears and promises to invest in the newspaper with one strange condition: from now on, the employees must be happy at work and go to work as if it were a holiday!
Will four colleagues who don't like each other find a way out? This is where real chaos begins, with funny situations, hilarious misunderstandings and, most importantly, even more work!
Perhaps this performance will give the audience the answer that the whole world has been searching for for centuries: how to be happy at work? And if you don't find the answer, then at least you will take away an optimistic attitude towards work that some love, others hate, and the happiness that everyone strives for.
