The Vienna Mozart Orchestra, which captivated Lithuanian audiences last year, is back. The iconic orchestra, dressed in 18th-century costumes, performs over 100 concerts in prestigious Austrian concert halls every year. 150 performances, and December 19-22 dwill celebrate the great holidays of the year with Vilniuswater, Kaunase and Palangoh.
The original Vienna Mozart Orchestra stands out from other orchestras not only for its impeccably performed music, but also for its original image - the orchestra members appear dressed in historical costumes and wigs from the late 18th century, also known as the Mozart era, which creates an even more authentic experience for the audience.
In concerts, the orchestra performs music by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Johann Sebastian Bach, Karl Komczak, Luigi Boccherini, Edvard Grieg, Franz Joseph Haydn, Antonín Dvorák, Johann Strauss, and other world-famous composers.
Founded in 1986 and celebrating its 40th anniversary next year, the orchestra performs more than 150 concerts annually in the prestigious Golden Hall of the Vienna Musikverein concert hall and the Vienna Opera House, and also regularly tours around the world.
In total, the Vienna Mozart Orchestra unites over 40 musicians from the most famous Austrian orchestras and ensembles, which allows it to maintain the highest level of mastery while performing in a lineup of various sizes. One of the musicians is the Lithuanian violinist Ieva Pranskutė, who lives in Vienna and often appears with the orchestra in the roles of both soloist and concertmaster.
"After the concerts held last December, we received a lot of great feedback. The audience was impressed by the top-class performance, original image and comprehensive 18th century experience. We already knew then that we would definitely invite this orchestra to return, because we have nothing like it in Lithuania," said Tomas Inčikas, head of the event organizer Seven Live.
The festive concerts of the Vienna Mozart Orchestra will take place on December 2025, 19 at the Palanga Concert Hall, on December 21 at the Vilnius Twinsbet Arena, and on December 22 at the Kaunas Žalgiris Arena. Tickets for the performances are distributed by Bilietai.lt.
