2025/03/08 - 2025/05/10

Marius Morkūnas has been working in the fields of design, painting and photography for 23 years and says that his goal in painting is peace, so that looking at the painting one can rest spiritually, and he certainly succeeds in this. Using a minimal color palette and stylized lines and single strokes, the author creates a clean, minimalist landscape, not overloaded with details, directing the gaze into the distance.

Creativity accompanied the author from early childhood, a strong attraction to art manifested itself from the age of five. When he started attending school, art classes and clubs were his priority, and when they became too few, he entered the BRAKO art school in 1985. Later, he entered, studied and graduated from the Klaipėda Eduards Balsys Art Gymnasium (1986-1995).

(1995-1999) studied and graduated from the Vilnius Academy of Arts, Kaunas Institute of Arts, Klaipėda Department of Visual Design, Art History major in Visual Design, and obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Design. He continued his studies at the Vilnius Academy of Arts and in 2001. obtained a Master of Arts degree in Visual Design.

Marius says about the exhibition “Beauty Where I Was Born”: “This exhibition is a reflection of my native land in paintings. It is what I feel, see, hear and how I feel. My paintings reveal the most beautiful moments of the western Lithuanian landscape. The colors of the sea have enchanted me since childhood. The sea, lagoons, dunes, wind – it is already in my blood.”

The exhibition opened on March 8 (Saturday). Visitors to events at the Palanga Concert Hall will be able to admire the exhibition until May 10.
